The short answer
Goal365 is a local-first focus dashboard. It needs no account, keeps your tasks and sessions in your browser, and works offline after the first visit. The answers below cover installation, privacy, timer accuracy, sound, exports and what happens when you clear your browser data.
The short version
Goal365 is free, account-free and local-first. The timer, tasks, notes and generated ambient sound run in your browser. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising pixel and no Goal365 server that stores your focus history. If you want the detail, the privacy page explains exactly what is saved and which optional requests the app can make.
What is not here yet
Accounts, cloud sync, detailed stats, billing and custom playlists are not part of this version. The product is deliberately small: a clock, a timer, a short task list and ambient sound. The roadmap may add optional sync later, but it is not required to use the app.
Questions people actually ask
Is Goal365 free?
Yes. The timer, tasks, ambient sound and themes are free, with no ads and no paid tier at launch.
Do I need an account?
No. Goal365 opens into the dashboard with no sign-up, email or password.
Where is my data stored?
Tasks, sessions, notes and settings are stored in your browser's local storage on this device. There is no cloud copy today.
Does Goal365 track me?
No. There is no analytics SDK, advertising pixel, session recorder or third-party script in the app. The privacy page lists the optional weather requests.
Does it work offline?
Yes, after the first visit. The app shell, timer, tasks, notes and generated soundscapes are cached or local. Some theme images and recordings need to load once.
How do I install it?
Use the browser's Install option on desktop, Add to Home Screen in Safari on iPhone or iPad, or Install app in Android Chrome.
Does the timer keep running in the background?
Yes. Goal365 stores an absolute end time and derives the remaining time from your device clock, so throttled tabs and reloads do not make it drift.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Settings has a JSON export that includes the app's saved state. The file is the only way data leaves the browser today.
How do I delete everything?
Use the reset option in Settings, or clear site data for the app in your browser. Because there is no cloud copy, deletion is immediate.
What timer modes are included?
Pomodoro (25/5 by default), Animedoro (50/10), 52/17, countdown and stopwatch. Pomodoro lengths and the long-break interval are configurable.
How many tasks and sounds are there?
Three task slots, 55 ambient sound beds, 15 scenes and 300 themes across eight categories.
Is there cloud sync?
Not yet. The current version is local-first, so each browser has its own data. Optional accounts and sync are planned, not shipped.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Goal365 is a responsive progressive web app and can be added to the home screen on iPhone and Android.
Are the themes and sounds licensed?
Yes. Photography is licensed from Pexels and Wikimedia Commons, illustrations are original, fonts are self-hosted under the OFL, and sound credits are listed in the app and in the public credits files.
